Michel Monnard working with the European Tour Professionals
When we work with Tour Professionals, they want to get exact explanation why we would change anything in their game, especially with Putting, where they make the money (or they dont). Most of them where quite interested in new techniques, especially after we have shown them what their ball really does when they strike it.

Alvaro Quiros has just won the tournament at Leopard Creek and has become a happy first time winner with a two years examption. He says that it was luck, but I did not believe it, because you cant afford to make mistakes on sunday when you want to win.
Pete Coleman is probably the most famous caddy on tour, having caddied for Berhard Langer many years. He has talked about him writing a list for his player with whom to go out and with whom not to go out.
Last picture: Retief Goosen on the putting green during his practice. Further down you will find a video of his tee shot at Fancourt earlier in the week at an exhibition at the BMW World Finals.

| The video does not lie | Quiros & Arruti during the lesson | Jesus Arruti & Michel | ||
Amongst others I have worked with the spanish Pros Jesus Arruti and Alvaro Quiros.
Especially Jesus said that he had problems with his stroke under pressure. So we started working on his follow through and his rhythm. He took the rythmiser with him and hopefully will practice his drills.
Alvaro Quiros had just 2 days before won his first European Tour Title at Leopard Creek Golf Club earning him a 2 years examption for the tour. He said that he had luck, which I did not believe. To do it on a sunday under pressure takes more than luck. On video we saw that he is giving the ball a very good roll without any sidespin, so there is nothing to change.

With Jesus I have been talking about his grip (besides the rythm problem he had). I showed him how to change it, so the blade stays facing the target even if he breaks his wrists, which it did not with his old grip.
It is small changes we do with tour professionals. Golf is all about trust and big changes would not be good under pressure. So the pros judge what is good for them to change and what has to wait for the next break.

Des Terblanche was another player joining our teaching at the South African Airways Open. We showed him his ball roll and when he saw what was happening, he wanted to work on it. I will check back in a few weeks if anything has changed or not.
I want to say thank you to Harold Swash for all his insights during the 8 days we spent together on tour. I have had the pleasure to follow several of his clinics at Fancourt, Port Elizabeth Golf Club and Westlake Golf Club. All the nice stories about his life and the tour have certainly increased my putting knowledge. I am looking forward to join Harold and his partner Phil for another week of interesting insights soon.
A big thank you aswell to Wayne Farrell, the Director of Distribution for Yes! Golf for a fantastic time and friendship aswell as to Francis Ricci, the CEO of Yes! Golf for company insights and all the wonderful bottles of red wine.
